Fireworks Event Notification for 7/25

Public and private fireworks events in the Town of Pittsford require a permit issued by the Town.  The Town of Pittsford regularly provides courtesy notifications in advance to residents in the immediate area of a permitted fireworks event (public or private) held in the Town of Pittsford.  These notifications are now also posted on the Town website at www.townofpittsford.org/fireworks-notifications and in the Town's weekly eNews (email newsletter).

Should you have a need to receive a courtesy notification in advance regarding permitted fireworks events to be held in the Town of Pittsford, regardless of event location, we encourage you to subscribe to the Town's eNews (email addresses are kept confidential and are not shared). You may also provide your contact information (name, address, and email) to Town Fire Marshal and Code Enforcement Officer Kelly Cline at kcline@townofpittsford.org.  Please see below current fireworks event permit notifications.

Resumes due Friday, 7/20 for Town Environmental & Planning Boards volunteers

The Town of Pittsford's Environmental Board (two openings) and Planning Board (one opening) each have openings for volunteer board members. Resumes currently are being accepted for consideration; the deadline for submission is July 20. The Environmental Board serves in an advisory capacity, reporting to the Town Board and the Planning Board on matters pertaining to environmental issues within the Town. The Planning Board is a legally constituted board responsible for the review of development applications in the Town, primarily including those for new homes and business construction or expansion.
 
Pittsford community members with an interest in serving on the Town Environmental Board or on the Town Planning Board are encouraged to send a resume for consideration by July 20 to: Supervisor's Office, Town of Pittsford, 11 South Main Street, Pittsford, New York 14534. Please also indicate which board is of interest to you.  Resumes and information may also be submitted via email to wsmith@townofpittsford.org.

Concert tonight at Carpenter David Miller & The Other Sinners (7/13)

Join us for the Town of Pittsford's Summer Concert Series each Friday at 6:30pm along the canal in Carpenter Park at the Port of Pittsford. The season runs through August 10 (no concert June 30) and features a variety of outstanding music! For a complete schedule, visit our Concert Series webpage. Many thanks to our generous 2018 Summer Concert Series Partners Regain Physical Therapy and The Goddard School, and our Concert Series Sponsors: Doyle Chevrolet Subaru, Harris Beach Attorneys at Law, Messner Flooring, Pittsford Federal Credit Union and Rotolite-Elliott Printing & Copy Center.

Bring your lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy some great music along the canal. This week (7/13) features southern soul with David Miller & The Other Sinners. Le Petit Poutine food truck will be on site with hand-cut french fries and fresh cheese curds smothered in fresh gravy available for purchase. Or grab a bite to eat from one of the nearby Village restaurants.

2018 Concert Series

Town closures for Independence Day holiday - 2018

Town Hall, the Interim Community Center, the VanHuysen Senior Center, the Pittsford Community Library and all other Town offices and operations will be closed on Wednesday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

Also, please note there will not be a Summer Concert Series performance on Friday, July 6. Town of Pittsford staff and Town Board wish all our community members a safe and happy Fourth of July!

Concert for Kids July 11 with Paulsen & Baker

Our first of two Concerts for Kids is Wednesday, July 11 and features good time family music with Paulsen & Baker plus fun family activities. Join us at 6:30pm along the canal in Carpenter Park at the Port of Pittsford for this free evening of music and fun for the whole family. Treats from the Kona Ice shaved ice and ice cream truck will be available for purchase on site as well!

Then be sure to save the date for our second Concert for Kids on August 8 featuring kids rock with Mr. Loops. Carpenter Park is located at 22 North Main Street.

Email Safety Alert: potentially fraudulent web address similar to Town's

WARNING: POTENTIALLY FRAUDULENT WEBSITE ADDRESS SIMILAR TO TOWN OF PITTSFORD WEBSITE
Carefully check all emails - the Town NEVER asks for personal information via email.
JUNE 25, 2018 - The Town was informed that over the weekend a potentially fraudulent website domain name had been registered as "townofpittsfords.org" (Pittsford with an "s" at the end).  Web addresses that are similar to legitimate websites can be used for "phishing" - the fraudulent practice of sending emails that claim to be from a reputable organization in order gather personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers.  Please note the Town of Pittsford NEVER requests personal information via email - should you receive any such request, please DO NOT provide any personal information and instead contact the Town of Pittsford at (585) 248-6229 or sobrien@townofpittsford.org so we may take the appropriate action against any fraudulent outreach.

Summer is the perfect time for the Library to rock your world! The Pittsford Community Library's Summer Reading programs feature great activities and reading programs for all ages plus fun prizes for participants.


See the Library’s Summer Reading Programs page for information on our “Libraries Rock!” programs, including our Summer Reading Game for children entering preschool - 5th grade, our Summer Reading programs for tweens and teens (students entering 6th-12th grades) with prizes and special events including an after-hours teen lock-in, and our Summer Reading Challenge for adults - those age 18 and up can complete Library and reading related challenges to win gift cards from various local establishments in a drawing every Monday! All three programs offer fun ways to get you reading more this summer.
